Although we live thousands of miles apart, we have been able to spend a lot of time together over the winter months as best friends. Some of our favorite things to do together are listed here. Let us know what your favorite winter activities are in the comments section below!
Try your hand at ice skating.
Going ice skating at a public outdoor facility is one of our favorite winter pastimes. Bundling up and going ice skating during the holidays is always a blast. But you still have time to go ice skating! In most cases, outdoor rinks remain open through March. Get your closest pals together and get on the ice.
See a Show with Lights
Since our first year of dating, we’ve made a habit of going to light shows together. As a result, we’ve been to a few since, including ones that are both drive-thru and pedestrian. During the winter, everything takes on a glistening sheen.
Put on a DVD and make some hot chocolate.
If you’d rather stay warm indoors with a cup of hot chocolate than venture out into the cold winter weather, that’s an option as well. Whipped cream and little marshmallows are our preferred toppings. Get a cup of hot cocoa and settle in with a good movie. We saw The Devil Wears Prada, Confessions of a Shopaholic, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid during our last trip.
In the Snow, Have Fun!
You should take use of the fact that you live in an area where it snows, like we did. Have a snowball battle, build a snowman, or go sledding. When the ground is blanketed in fresh snow, there are so many things to do.
Play a Game and Light some Candles
We bought a Rosé-scented candle and played Cards Against Humanity with several other pals when we were together. This time of year, the aroma of candles is always welcoming. In addition, any card game is ideal for a quiet evening at home.
Make Delectable Desserts at Home
When the weather isn’t cooperating, baking something new is a great inside pastime. Hot chocolate and biscotti cookies were also baked during our last visit. Do you want to give a new recipe a shot? Now is the best moment to do it.
Take a Jog or a Brisk Jog
If you’re a fan of the winter chill, consider taking a walk in your winter gear. In the winter, it’s a joy to breathe in the crisp air.
Go to a Football Game and Enjoy It
The months of January and February are critical in the NFL. Get together with your pals for a Super Bowl party, or just spend the night cheering on your favorite team in a low-key way. Snacks are an essential part of a successful football day.
New Year’s Eve is a time to party.
The arrival of winter heralds the arrival of the new year and the making of resolutions. Whether you throw a big party or just sit back and watch the ball drop, make sure you take time to enjoy another year successfully completed. Examine your goals and aspirations for the coming year.
Together, discover a brand-new location.
To get the most out of your vacation, you don’t have to travel far from home. In the new year, it’s also a great opportunity to explore a city, eat at a new restaurant, or shop at a new store or boutique. Find something enjoyable to do while exploring a new location. We had a great day lately exploring a small seaside town in Maryland.
